Γιώργος Κεβρεκίδης - Giorgos Kevrekidis, Hug, 40x30cm, Μικτή τεχνική - Mixed media | "Amputated obelisks", been the title of my diploma project (2016, MSFAU, Istanbul), are resynthesized by their own fragments soon after attack occurs. Human "torso", even when flagship monumental columns are hit either by man or nature, strive to replace their amputated parts with their own body constituents, as been shaped for commemorating human defeat, loss and suffering. New born obelisks, coming as the result of an endless "structuralistic" human tendency to domesticate nature, morph plastically incorporate this constant evolving human process, advancing in height - having man always looking upwards, according to greek noun's origin, “άν-θρωπος”... | site: www.kevrekidisgiorgos.com
